Detail: He lived 216 to 276 and proclaimed himself intercessor {Paraclete} with God. He emphasized asceticism, prayer, and understanding of God. He combined Christianity and Zoroastrianism gnostically, so spirit is Light, and matter is Dark {Manichaeism}. Sassanid Shah Sapor I supported him. After Sapor I died, Zoroastrianism Magi persuaded next shah to reject Manichaeism.
