Detail: Frederick II of Prussia claimed Silesia from Maria Theresa of Austria [1745]. Philip V of Spain fought on side of Austria. It ended [1748] with Maria Theresa as queen of Austria. Austria controlled Milan, Mantua, Tuscany, and Modena in Italy. Savoy controlled Papal States and Sardinia. Venice, Genoa, and Lucca were independent. Silesia went to Prussia.
