Detail: Farmers from Pakistan settled by river. Writing began. City houses were in grid. Major towns among 1500 towns were Mohenjo Daro (Mound of the Dead), Harappa, Rakhigarhi, Dholavira, Kot Diji, Ganweriwala, Chanhu Daro, Shahr-i-Sokhta, and Lothal. They did not make large stone monuments but had local marketplaces and religious festivals {sang, festival}. They did not bury the dead with luxury goods. The language is undeciphered. Earthquakes and floods weakened it [-1700]. Later, Kassite people from northwest invaded [-1500], and cities decayed.
