Line segments radiating from central imaginary circle {radial lines illusion} make center circle appear brighter. If center circle is black, it looks like background. If center circle has color, it appears brighter and raised {anomalous brightness}. If center circle is gray disk, it appears gray but shimmers {scintillating luster}. If center circle has color and background is black, center circle appears blacker {anomalous darkness}.
