The Shoes June 7, 2000 I think that the rest of Elia and his wife will still be the same. Elia is a lawyer in the law court. His wife is very calm and not disturbed by anything. They didn't have very much money, but they have enough to get by. They were both inert and indifferent to what went on around them. They probably will go on like before, since they didn't receive any money from their uncle. The advice that I would give them about their situation is Elia should find another job, so that their lives can turn out for the better, instead of wishing money would come freely to them. Use his poem and publish it, so he can make some money out of it. He and his wife should get more ambitious in their lives. Elia's philosophy is that he thinks that he knows that everything that happens was destined to happen. Nothing can ever surprise him in this world. He knows that life has its ups and downs. He likes to be in peace, with no worry. I don't agree with Elia's philosophy of life, because when we went to visit his dying uncle, he didn't gain anything from it. He was late and he couldn't make up his mind. He slept too long and wasn't motivated to take care of his business, and his wife was too lazy to tell him that he had a telegram. So it doesn't serve him well. His philosophy doesn't really fit real life.
